Our Mt. Vernon on the Potomac (MVOP) Board President is Ted Breiner.  As President, Ted serves as chief executive officer of the Association and supervises the affairs and property of the Association and its officers.

Geoff Kieffer joined the MVOP Board in 2008 as Vice President and is responsible for performing all duties of the President in the event of the President's absence or inability.  In addition, Geoff maintains a diologue with the local police and fire departments to alert the Board of any issues regarding community safety or security.

Larry Boatman serves as Secretary for the MVOP Board. He is responsible for keeping official meeting minutes and records for the Association. Larry has been a resident of MVOP since November 2004 and joined the Board in 2007.

MVOP Treasurer, Mary Lewis, joined our community and our Board in 2007 and is responsible for Association receipts, deposits, and disbursement of funds.  Mary maintains the Association's financial records and presents an annual report to the community at the annual meeting.

Ted Keany serves as Harbor Master. Ted supervises the operation and maintenance of the marina, the processing of slip applilications and assignments.

Mary Morrison is the MVOP Building and Grounds Chairperson.  Mary's responsibilities include securing bids and proposals for all maintenance and general upkeep of Association owned improvements including the pond, entrance landscaping and lighting, and the marina grounds and picnic area.  She regularly monitors related contracts approved by the Board and advises changes as necessary.

Jim Ernst joined the MVOP Board as the Social Chair in the Fall of 2009.  Jim is responsible for planning and implementing year-round social activities for the community which include the Easter Egg Hunt, Summer Party, Oktoberfest, Fall Happy Hours and Christmas Caroling Party.  Jim also welcomes newcomers to the community.

Patick Webre joined the MVOP Board in 2006 as the Architectural Control Chairperson and reviews and notifies the Board of Directors of all plans submitted by membership.  Plans are evalutated based on their compliance with the Protective and Restrictive Covenants of Mt. Vernon on the Potomac and a written repsonse by Patrick is provided to the applicant within thirty days of submission.

Judy McCarthy, Chair of Roadways, joined the MVOP Board in 2006.  Judy is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the neighoborhood cul de sacs.

Committees:

The Paving Committee, chaired by Judy McCarthy, is responsible for reviewing the repaving of the cul de sacs, which includes working with a contracted Civing Engineering firm and providing its recommendations to the MVOP Board of Directors.  The following MVOP residents serve on this committee:  Hank Zimon and Dick Harrington

Mary Lewis chairs a second committee, the Finance Committee, which reviews the costs associated with the cul de sac repaving and provides recommendations to the MVOP Board for paying for the repaving.  The following MVOP residents serve on this committee:  Barbara Burns, Wayne Holland, Shirley Miller, and Diane Thulin
